REMEMBERING SUMMER OF 2012

Although the summer of 2012 was an inferno, there still were some highlights of the canna season.

In the heat, many gardeners retreated to a world of pots; and dwarf cannas especially make great pot subjects. Here is Pink Sunburst:





Peach  Butterflies is a fairly tall plant. It blooms heavily.







Pink Floyd is about 4-5 feet tall and very vigorous.




Fantastic Red was a favorite last year. It is about 4
feet tall.

Thai Sunray, a strong color that holds, is very tall (7 feet).

Strawberry Delight was not so showy as 2011, but still very fine:

Femme Fatale (about 3-4 feet) had an interesting bloom:






Lady K (3-4 feet) is a lovely apricot shade:




Aurorea (about 4-5 feet) has attractive dark leaves and an orange-red bloom:
